LEGENDARY Wolverhampton racer Peter Karlsson is just a fortnight away from launching his farewell celebrations in the city.

The Swedish superstar has enjoyed a glittering career at Monmore which started in 1990 and ended with the league title in a dramatic play-off final at Belle Vue last October.

His farewell meeting takes place on Sunday March 19 – but before then he will be live on stage talking about his life in speedway at the Cleveland Arms sports pub on Wednesday March 1.

Fans are urged to be quick to avoid disappointment as the event is heading for a sellout and only standard £10 tickets remain.

Said Karlsson: “I can’t believe how close it’s getting now and I’m really looking forward to meeting up with the fans on the night.

“It’s a nice way for me to start my farewell celebrations, I’ve had such a brilliant time at Wolverhampton and I can’t wait.

“My meeting is taking shape nicely and I’ll be talking in-depth about that on stage.”

Karlsson spent 17 of his 22 seasons in England with the Parrys International Wolves and will always be remembered as one of their all-time greats.

You can get your tickets now by visiting or by calling The Cleveland Arms directly on 01902 451021.
