WOLVERHAMPTON legend Peter Karlsson will say goodbye to British Speedway on Sunday (March 19, 5pm) as he stages his farewell meeting at Monmore Green.

The super Swede is hanging up his goggles 27 years after making his first appearance in the UK.

‘PK – The Final Word’, sponsored by Frog Self Drive Ltd, will see Karlsson and 13 other riders involved in a pairs event, as well seven additional demonstration match races.

With a jam-packed schedule, and a bumper crowd expected, fans are urged to arrive early for what Karlsson says will be an emotional day.

“I never thought this day would come but it’s time for me to do my last meeting in England!” Karlsson said.

“British Speedway has done so much for me and Wolverhampton has been a massive part of my life.

“For my farewell, I wanted to do something different and I wanted to make sure there’s something for fans of all ages.

“We’ve got some of the British kids racing first, then we’ll get the main meeting underway with some match races including some old Wolves legends.

“We’re doing a track walk before the meeting too, an auction after the meeting and there’ll be plenty of memorabilia on sale too.

“It’s took a lot of hard work and planning behind the scenes, but hopefully it will all be worth it when my meeting runs smoothly!”

Admission for the event is as follows: Adults £18, Concessions £13, Junior (13-18) £7, Child (6-12) £1, Children 5 and Under FREE. A special 56-page commemorative brochure has also been produced for the event, reflecting on Karlsson’s career in British Speedway.
