SOMERSET v WOLVES, PREVIEW

Tuesday June 12, 2018
WOLVERHAMPTON resume their Premiership programme on Wednesday when they head to Somerset (7.30).

Top flight racing returns following a break for the Speedway of Nations competition – and the Parrys International Wolves are hoping to build on an encouraging start to the campaign.

The Monmore men currently sit at the top of the table, level on points with reigning Champions Swindon.

On their travels, Wolves have picked up four points from four fixtures so far – but are still searching for their first away win of the year.

A change in the greensheet averages sees Wolves track a different riding order on Wednesday.

Local lad Ashley Morris is promoted into the main body of the team in a move that sees Kyle Howarth move away from his familiar No.2 racejacket to No.3.

It also means Aussie Cameron Heeps drops down to reserve as he returns to the home of his former employers – a position he hopes he can show his potential in after a tricky start to the campaign.

“Speedway is 100 per cent a confidence game,” Heeps said.

“I was full of confidence last year and I think that’s the main reason why I had my best year yet.

“I came here this year and I did know it was going to be tough but maybe I put a bit too much pressure on myself in the first few meetings.

“Hopefully I can start the ball rolling though.”

SOMERSET: Jason Doyle, Bradley Wilson-Dean, Charles Wright, Richard Lawson, Jack Holder, Jonas Jeppesen, Jake Allen.

WOLVERHAMPTON: Jacob Thorssell, Ashley Morris, Kyle Howarth, Sam Masters, Rory Schlein, Cameron Heeps, Nathan Greaves.
