SOMERSET v WOLVES, PREVIEW

Tuesday August 28, 2018
WOLVERHAMPTON are weighing up their options ahead of Wednesday's Premiership trip to Somerset (7.30).

The Parrys International Wolves are definitely without skipper Rory Schlein at No.1 who is forced out under the mandatory nine-day ruling following a bang to the head in Monday's sensational comeback against Belle Vue.

Kyle Howarth was also withdrawn in the same incident, but club bosses will make a late call once they've received an update on the hand injury he sustained.

While he was disappointed to see his two team-mates forced out of Monday's home clash early, local lad Ashley Morris says the performance which saw them overturn a six-point deficit to secure a last gasp 46-44 win over Belle Vue could prove to be a massive turning point in their season.

"When we were down to just five riders, nobody gave us a chance," Morris said.

"But we showed some tremendous character, we dug deep and to turn things around and grab the win like we did was amazing.

"I was buzzing, the rest of the boys were buzzing - the whole stadium was buzzing if you were there cheering on Wolves!

"It's kept us in with a shout of a play-off place and we know we need to beat King's Lynn at home next Monday, but we also know we need to find an away win from somewhere.

"Somerset and Poole are our last two away meetings and they're definitely not going to be easy - but honestly, the buzz that we felt after that meeting on Monday could prove to be a big moment in our season and we're going to Somerset to do the same again.

"We're going to give it absolutely everything because the team spirit is amazing at Wolves right now and we want to get into those play-offs."

Somerset have injury problems of their own with Richard Lawson, Bradley Wilson-Dean and Jake Allen all ruled out.

They bring in Adam Ellis, Nikolaj Busk Jakobsen and Todd Kurtz respectively while Wolves again use James Sarjeant at reserve in place of Nathan Greaves.

SOMERSET: Jason Doyle, Aaron Summers, Nico Covatti, Adam Ellis, Jack Holder, Todd Kurtz, Nikolaj Busk Jakobsen.

WOLVERHAMPTON: TBC, Kyle Howarth (if fit), Jonas B Andersen, Sam Masters, Jacob Thorssell, Ashley Morris, James Sarjeant.
